A great weekend! At Finnish Winner show on saturday, out of the 4 titles, Benton WSS
managed to take 3. Well done to everyone. Young Benton Somebody's Duck was
shown for the first time in junior class and took FINJW-06 title as well as the
Dog resCC! The bitch FINJW-06 title went to Benton Quit Talkin' "Risty", who continued
her very succesful weekend on sunday at Swedish Winner Show. Young Risty almost hit
the jackpot (like grandma Sara did in 2004... ) finishing Best Bitch 2 ("1st runner up
Miss Sweden") with CC and resCACIB! Well done Risty and Maarit!!!! Ch Benton One More Duck
took FinW-06 title and went BOB and Group-3. On sunday at Stockholm Swedish Winner Show he
placed Best Male-2. Risty and Usko were the only Bentons shown in Sweden.

It was a good weekend for Saras grandkids! Trystyn's Aarikka was shown
at WSSC of America Supported Entry weekend, taking 5-point major both days
and thus finishing her AM CH title. "Josey" is sired by Am Ch Benton Nevada Storm out of
Am Ch Trystyn's Hula Popper. While on sunday Trystyn's Blue Rodeo "Fil"
by Ned Ch Benton Kansas Storm out of Am Ch Trystyn's Get Your Wings took his first
5-point major too. This was Fils first show besides being shown at the Nationals.

Princess in the hospital!
Sara has been to the hospital today. She was spayed. All went well. I took her at 10 am
to the vet clinic and stayed there until it was time for her to have the operation around 10.30. I was really worried about this. I was supposed to pick her up earlist at 1 pm or maybe even later to make sure she would walk out ofthe clinic. All who know her, things do not go that way, when we talk about the Sara. At 11.45 I get a call from my vet telling me to pick her up as she is not happy to be here.
She basiclly walked herself out of the operation and was very annoyed about the hud around her head.
She was happy to see me to take her out of the clinic. She is doing well and difficult to
say now that she has had an operation a few hours before.

As said this year was no exception. In both best bitch and best male competition, three
bentons were placed. Wiljami aka NordJW-05 Benton Pigs Might Fly made one of his very
rare appearances in the showrings (this was his fourth show) to take his first CC (in addition to his 2 res CC's) and finish as Best male-3. We are still waiting for him to mature. Bitch CC and res CC's went
to his two sisters, EuJw-06 Benton Pearl at Wesper and NordJw-05 Benton Pep Talk.
Well done and thanks to everyone again! It was a nice day.

Celebrating after judging! Big thanks to Maarit among others for all their help
during the year! This was the last show in top breeder all breeds competition 2006 and I think
we still managed to finish in third place! Lets wait for the official results!

There were 33 welsh springers entered at Oulu FKK Int Ch show, the last all breed
show that is counted in Top Breeder All Breeds. Four bentons entered,
it could not have gone better, they took BOB BOS, best male2, bestbitch2 and
both CACIB's, both CC's and 1 resCACIB (since Risty, Benton Quit Talkin is still in
junior.) A great day but unfortunately I had no breeders group shown in the breed ring:(

A lovely weekend in Aland Islands turned out to be super success weekend for young Ilona aka NordJW-05
Benton Pep Talk. She did not only take her second BOB, 4th CC and 2nd CACIB, but also went on to win
the gundog group under Edwina Thomas from South-Africa (originally from Australia) and even BIS-4
placement under Nils Molin from Sweden. Something we could not even dream of! We belive this
was the first time a welsh springer BITCH has taken group 1st at an Int Ch show in Finland! Not bad for a
raw youngster at the age of 1,5 years.

We got the great news that currently team Benton is in 3rd place in top breeder all breeds 2006 competition
in Finland, only two more all breed Ch shows to go (plus our Spaniel Club show) before the competition ends.
We are only onepoint behind 2nd place. I am thrilled to bits about this and I do thank everyone who have put their effort
and have willingly entered the shows to enable me to show my breeders groups, I could not have done it without you.
This is the highest ever placement for a welsh springer breeder in this competition and naturally I am extremely proud of it!

Great news again. Hymy aka Benton Reason To Talk, aged 13 months went to
her very first tracking test. She did it in great style, getting first prize
(47 points out of 50) in the test in open class, as the only dog on the day and therefore
finishing as best dog in the test. Well done Anne and Hymy.

One of those days, you dont really want to forget. We showed at Porvoo All
Breed Ch show, 5 bentons was entered on the day (in an entry of 25). It
could not have gone better. The only male Benton, One More Duck took BOB Group-1.
The four bitches took all four best bitch placements! Today BOS and CC # 3 was
Benton Pep Talk, followed by junior Benton Quit Talkin' (res CC), then Ch Benton
Let Em Talk and Benton Pearl at Wesper. My breeders group took BOB and later on BIS2!

Int Ch Benton Minnesota Storm passed successfully International Club
Universal Huntingtests with 2nd prize. These huntingtests are very prestigious
and difficult (2 days) - 11 spaniels started and only 5 passed them (1 x 1, 3 x 2 and 1 x 3 prize)
The other welsh with 2nd prize was Rakys halfbrother Int Ch Eastfarms Dynamite Duck,
also sired by Int Ch Benton Everybody Duck. Well done Marie and Raky as well as

Risty was too young to compete for the CACIB, so it went to Twigle Kings Love,

On sunday "Usko" continued his winning ways by being placed BIS-4
in the BIS final. This reminds me of year 1986, 20 years back when I showed
Int Ch Delkens Turul to BIS-4 placement at Tampere FKK Int Ch Show, he was
then the first Welsh Springer in Finland who had taken a group win at an Int Ch show.
There is still only a handful of welsh springers who have managed to do it.

Another really hot day, especially for the veteran Sara. She
managed to be BOB veteran, though and got excellent. BOB to Ch Benton One More Duck
and BOS to the young Benton Pearl at Wesper, who got CC #9. Followed by her mother
Ch Benton Let Em Talk (Best bitch 2) and sister Benton Pep Talk (Best bitch 3) Well done!
The main reason to show at this show was to try hopefully to get a breeders group,
unfortunately we had to take the old veteran into the group, and felt it was not
fair for her to stay out in the sun in the finals, so we decided not to show
the group in the big ring.

Our annual Springer Club ch show took place in Karkku.
First time ever WSS took BEST IN SHOW!
This time it was a junior bitch, BENTON PEARL AT WESPER!

What a weekend - again!
At Skokloster Spaniel and Retriever Ch show in Sweden on saturday, Martta aka Ch
Benton Let Em Talk took BOB again and went on to BIS-3 placement and Best
Spaniel under breederjudge Mr Frank Whyte, Kennel Kazval, UK! We had only
four bitches with us and were able to take three placements in best bitch class!
The same day Fin JW-04 Benton One From Heaven took her last CC and is now FIN CH.
The next day we drove straight from the harbour to attend Aptus Int Ch show in Helsinki
BOB and BOS again to Martta and Ducky! Benton Pearl at Wesper got res CC and res CACIB
(will be transferred to CACIB). My breeders group took BIS-2 in the big ring!
Ch Benton Minnesota Storm took CAC CACIB BOB the same weekend in Czech Republic!

We are currently (before this show) as #4 in top breeders all breed competition.
Thanks again to those my devoted puppybuyers who willingly enter these important shows
and therefore enable me to show my breeders groups! I could not do it without your help!

Benton C-litter turned 12 years old on sunday!! There were seven puppies in the litter, only one of the
bitches Bessie (Benton Cool Breeze) is not with us anymore, the rest of the litter (6) are still
fit and well! One of the boys, Bede aka AM CH Benton Cymro Statesman flew as a puppy to America, to join my dear friend Adrienne Bancker and her Briarbanc welshies. Here are some photos of Bede celebrationg his 12th birthday, pictured with Adriennes mom, Peggy, who is now enjoying the

What a great day at Lahti FKK Int Ch show again. In the last six Lahti Int Ch
shows, we have taken BOB five times! This year it was Int Ch Benton Let 'Em Talk
who took the BOB win under respected judge Mr Hans Lehtinen. We had only 4
dogs entered today and had great results. Patsy aka Benton Pearl at Wesper took
CC nr 3 and was only beaten by her mom. Sister Pep Talk was best bitch-4. Uncle
Ed aka Ch Benton Lookin' For Duck was best male-2. Breeders group took BIS-2 in big
ring!! Thanks to all helping handlers!!

We got great news from Czech Republic! Ch Benton Minnesota Storm "Raky"
had also finished her International Ch title! Well done Raky and Marie!
During the last month three Bentons have finished their Int ch title (subject to FCI
confirmation) - besides Raky, Int Ch Benton Let 'Em Talk and Int Ch Benton Kings Cross.
Well done to Minna and Hannele, too!

The lovely bignose came for a short visit as his mommy had some work related matters
in Texas, USA. He had his haircut done again. We just love having him here
(especially Sara enjoys his grandsons company!) , since he used to
live with me for 12 months, he is always acting like 'I am back at home'

Ch Benton One More Duck took resCC at the prestigious Crufts show in the UK,
being the first welsh springer outside of the UK and Eire to win a green card at

Benton B-litter, 5 girls and 1 boy. I dont know where my luck disappeared,
now it seems I am only breeding welsh springer spaniels males:(
